David moved to Atlanta in 1986 after graduating from Mercer University in Macon, Georgia with a BBA in Finance. He is entering his thirtieth year in the financial services industry. David believes in providing individuals and families with strategies to create a more fulfilling and secure retirement.
He obtained his Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU®) designation in 1996 from the American College in Brynmawr, Pennsylvania. In 1997 he subsequently finished his Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC®) designation from the same American College. And finally, he became a certified Financial Planner (CFP®) in 2000 from Oglethorpe University in Atlanta, Georgia.
David works independently and interdependently with Capital Investment Companies. Being affiliated with Capital Investment Advisory Services, LLC, he has aligned himself with Ryan Mumy, the firm’s Chief Investment Officer, to manage assets for clients. David also works closely with Mitzi Edge, to ensure quality client services.
Besides finding David in the garden or reading novels, he can be found at any one of the Atlanta sporting events. Not only did he play soccer collegiately at Mercer University, he helped coach all three of his daughters in their youth leagues. His daughters keep him engaged in activities throughout the Southeast. David’s global perspective comes from his interest in international travel and varied cultures. Some of his favorite trips include snow skiing in New Zealand, climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro, and attending four World Cups (1994, 1998, 2002, 2006)! His last trip to Italy with his wife, Elizabeth, continues to excite his nomadic senses along with his curious Labradors, Sir Clyde & Lady Florence.
